What Personal Data / Information We Collect from You, and also Automatically

With a completely safe end-to-end encryption, we may collect, use, store and transfer the following types of information about you.

  • Basic Personal Data: Konektor is a hybrid, all-in-one Social Media App platform. We therefore require and collect your mobile number and other basic account data (which may include Full Names, age, email, Sex, username, profile picture and about information) to create a konektor account.
    To make it easier for your contacts and other users of the app and entire community of people to reach you and recognize who you are, the username you choose, your profile pictures, on Konektor are always made public.
    Kindly Note that users who already have you in their contacts and phone book may sometimes see you by the name they saved your contact and not necessarily by your Konektor Username.

  • Phone Number and Contact List: Konektor uploads your Contact’s List from your phonebook. This is used to Ascertain which of your Contacts are also in Konektor so as to notify you as soon as one of your contacts signs up for Konektor, and also to bring both of you into Konektions to enable you start a Safe end-to-end encrypted conversations with them. We Ask your permission before syncing your contacts. Apart from these, we do not store up any other data about your contacts.
    We also use your mobile phone number to Verify your number on our platform via an sms OTP verification.
    Kindly Note that users who already have you in their contacts and phone book may sometimes see you by the name they saved your contact and not necessarily by your Konektor Username.

  • Your Social Network Contacts: If you choose to sync your phone contacts, we will access and collect information such as names, email addresses and phone numbers and then cross-check that information against existing users of the platform. If you choose to share your social network contacts, we will collect your public profile information as well as names and profiles of your social network contacts.

  • Device Data: The mobile phone number used by the device, your mobile operating system - only if it is android or iOS, the time zone setting, log files, crashes, reports on performance, etc., get registered in our system to keep the App technically viable at all times.

  • Location Data: includes your current location that you may choose to share with your konektions on the App when you use the location sharing feature available to you in the App. This is done only after your express permission. We never track location in the background. If you share a location in a chat, this location data is treated like other messages in cloud. If you share your live location in any chat or turn on the visibility in the Random Call, Konektor will use your data to display your location and nearness to other users for as long as you keep these optional features activated.

  • Content Data: includes information stored on your device, including friends' lists, end-to-end encrypted photos, videos or other digital content, etc., so as to allow you to share such content with other Konektor users.

  • User Content: We Process the content you generate on the Platform, including photographs, audios, and videos you upload or create as well as comments, hashtags, feedback, and even reviews that you make. Even if you are not a user, information about you may appear in user content created or published by users on the platform about you may appear in user content. If you apply an effect to your user content, we may collect a version of your user content that does not include the effect.

  • Usage Data: includes details of your use of any of our Apps or your visits to any of Our Sites including, but not limited to, traffic data and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise.

  • Messages Data: user’s messages, which our end-to-end encryption services secure by encrypting them (including chats, calls, and multimedia content like photos, videos, and voice messages) and which remain in our system up to the point of delivery, which is a maximum of 30 days.

  • Calling Data: end-to-end encrypted call logs generated using our App. Calling Data will show the date and timestamps. Please note that we never store or record your conversations or call-related information.

  • Proof of Age and Identification: We may sometimes ask you to provide valid proof of identity or age in order to use certain features such as: livestream or verify accounts, or when you apply for a VIP/Celebrity Corner Account, ensuring that you are of a celebrity status and also that you are old enough to use the platform, or in other instances where verification might be required.

  • Status Data: your status information while using our App which is automatically updated in our system as well, including your online/offline status and your recent usage of our services (last seen).

  • Purchase Information: When you make a purchase or payment in or through the platform including when you buy Konektor Coins or Make a purchase in Konektor Virtual Mall, we collect information about the purchases or payment transactions, such as payment card information, billing, delivery as well as contact information and items you purchased.

  • Cookies: We and our service providers and business partners use cookies and other similar technologies (e.g., web beacons, flash cookies, etc.) (“Cookies”) to automatically collect information, measure and analyze how you use the Platform, including which pages you view most often and how you interact with content, enhance your experience using the Platform, improve the Platform, provide you with advertising, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and other content. Typically, this includes your friends on our App, who automatically deliver your phone number(s) when they contact you. Similarly, any profile detail, including your name, phone number, or any other personal detail made public by you will be storable or usable by other users of the App. Any message sent to other users using the service will also be available to them for use in whichever way they like. It is, therefore, your responsibility not to disclose anything that may be sensitive to you in nature.

Similarly, when you involve a third-party service on our App, say to share some of your Konektor activities over their platform, we may receive some of the data those services may have of you. Furthermore, for our marketing and commercial requirements, a part of the profiling done on the user may be shared with a third-party vendor to optimize the resources invested. Please note that the privacy policies and terms of such third parties govern the usage of shared information, and not of Konektor.

We do not store your messages or communications. If you decide on your own to store your Konektor messages on third party cloud storages (like Google Drive or iCloud), please be informed that in such cases, the privacy policies and terms of use of such third-party services come into effect when you use their services.

We may share your data once consent is given by you to our sister companies or if we go for a merger or organizational restructure.

Your Data is stored directly on your own device storage.

Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account, your messages too will be erased, including the undelivered ones. We will also delete any other data that is not necessitated by law for retention. Even the messages that remain undelivered will erase from our systems after a period of maximum 30 days.

Information Management

Settings: At any time, you can change the information available to others. You can use the block feature to prevent certain users from making contact.

AND if you as a parent are setting up an account for such minors, you must do so under your credentials and supervision. In essence, we do not intentionally store any personal information of any minor.

Business Partners:

If you choose to register to use the Platform using your social network account details (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google), you will provide us or allow your social network to provide us with your phone number, email address, username, and public profile. We will likewise share certain information with the relevant social network such as your app ID, access token and the referring URL. If you choose to allow a third-party service to access your account, we will share certain information about you with the third party. Depending on the permissions you grant, the third party may be able to obtain your account information and other information you choose to provide.

Where you opt to share content on social media platforms, the video, username, and accompanying text will be shared on that platform or, in the case of sharing via instant messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, a link to the content will be shared.

Advertisers, Advertising Networks and Measurement Partners:

We share information with advertisers and third-party measurement companies to show how many and which users of the platform have viewed or clicked on an advertisement.
